Sometimes you get into those conversations about.... trends and waves of styles and ways of working. A buddy of mine from Canada asked me the other day about it..and I couldn't help but say, you know, I think there's a lot of potters out there that just want to put birds on their pots. I guess they think it makes it more interesting. If you're not thinking about it..how form and decoration can feed off one another..with critical thought concerning the two (and I know it's hard, I try, I've failed at this... it's something I think I'll always be struggling with)... the pot can end up feeling like the sarcasm and irony of this video... Enjoy!
Laughed til I cried over this, then watched You Tube videos of Portlandia all night. Dovetails well with a late night discussion some years ago for an only, "Art on a Stick" show.
